TR Granite was a budget-friendly option, and overall, I’m happy with how the countertops turned out. The company was responsive when issues came up and made an effort to correct their mistakes.
One thing I really appreciated was their willingness to work around existing features in our kitchen. They worked with our existing backsplash by adding wood underneath the countertops to account for the height difference with quartz, allowing the new countertops to meet the bottom of the backsplash. They also had no issue installing the countertops around our existing appliance garage without removing it, which other companies we considered refused to do.
During the estimate, only one of the companies we considered discussed seam placement with us. TR Granite also got creative with the slab layout, placing the seams at the cooktop and sink rather than at the sink and in the middle of the counter, which I appreciated.
There were a few hiccups, though. The seams look slightly cheap because they were sealed on-site, and the seam sealer had a strong, unpleasant odor. The countertops still look nice overall, and luckily, the seams are in the white areas, so they’re only noticeable when viewed up close.
The biggest issue was the sink. Apparently, the sink I selected was out of stock, but I was never contacted to approve a smaller one. The representative said he had been sick and may have misremembered or thought he had contacted me. I was surprised by how small the sink felt on installation day. When I reached out, the company offered to replace it by removing the countertop, enlarging the cutout, and reinstalling everything in one day. Unfortunately, the faucet hole limited the depth of the replacement sink I could choose.
During the process of enlarging the sink cutout, the front of the countertop was scuffed. The workers didn’t mention it, but I noticed it later in the light. When someone came out to fix it, the worker said he thought repairing it would cause a color mismatch. He apparently had noticed the scuff but hadn’t mentioned it to me. They brought new tools to buff it out, and the repair turned out well.
The garbage disposal also leaked after installation, but the company replaced it, which I appreciated.
Overall, I liked working with TR Granite and would recommend them. The countertops look nice, and whenever something went wrong, the company worked to make it right. I’m giving four stars because of the sink communication issue and the countertop scuff, but I appreciate that they took steps to resolve both.
